Sight Seeing

Kintaikyo, an historical wooden bridge, was built in 1673 by the feudal lord Kikkawa Hiroyoshige and is the Iwakuni clan's chief accomplishment. It has been restored several times, most recently in 2003-04, but still remains an impressive sight.
Kintaikyo is regarded as one of the three most beautiful bridges in Japan. It is also famous for beautiful cherry trees in spring.
